Early American Candle Making
Journey back in time to learn from Peggy Allen the art of crafting candles with natural beeswax. Take part in the careful and significant process of candle dipping, a traditional early American method, as you create your own double wick 100% beeswax hand-dipped candle as well as a 5” cinnamon scented display ornament, by a method similarly used by German Lebkuchen Bakers from a stoneware cookie mold (designs vary). All materials are supplied. No prior skill required.
Workshop is full.

1776 Pin Ball Workshop
In collaboration with the Chester County History Center, the Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center (Pennsburg, PA) will present a workshop to make a Yeakle Family pinball at Chester County History Center on Thursday, May 14, 2026, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Kathy Lesieur created the chart and will be the instructor. The fee includes the chart and all supplies to make the pin ball – you just need to bring your scissors. You may choose to bring additional lighting.
This pin ball is in the museum collection of the Schwenkfelder and was made by a member of the Schwenkfelder Yeakle family in Chestnut Hill. The original bears the initials “S Y” (probably Susanna or Sarah Yeakle) and the date 1776. What could be more fitting to reproduce this year?
Cost: $125. Includes admission to CCHC. Additional historic samplers from the CCHC museum collection will be on view during the workshop.
