Brown Bag: Acting Dutch: Pennsylvania Dutch-Inspired Theater in the 20th Century

Presented by Candace Perry

There’s been a surprising amount of Pennsylvania Dutch themed plays written and produced over the last 100 years—several of which even made it to Broadway! Some of them you may know, but the majority you probably don’t (unless you went to the Mt. Gretna Playhouse frequently 40 years ago). Heritage Center Curator of Collections Candace Perry will take you for a tour of the Great White Way, and local byways Pennsylvania Dutch style with this illustrated lecture on these plays and musicals inspired by our regional culture.
