Special Workshop
Quilt Identification at Penn Dry Goods
Do you have an early family quilt, but you aren't sure which generation made it? Or an old quilt that you found at an antique shop, flea market or yard sale and you would like to know more about it's age and the fabrics? This year Penn Dry Goods is offering the opportunity for you to learn more about your wonderful quilt. This is not an appraisal—no monetary value will be discussed—but is focused on the history of your quilt and how it fits into your family history and the history of the area. This one-on-one opportunity is designed to discuss quilts made before 1970. One quilt will be studied and discussed during each 15 minute time slot. Local quilt historian Barbara Garrett, who has spent over 50 years researching and working on quilt documentation projects, will be doing the evaluations.
